AC Milan midfielder Yacine Adli has declined Algeria’s approach to an international career.

His name was cited as the big sensation on Vladimir Petkovic’s first list as Algeria coach. In the end, he won’t be there. Yacine Adli is not interested in playing for the Greens.

The former Bordeaux player spoke in an interview with Gianluca Di Marzio. He told her that his goal was to “play at the highest level” and that therefore it is the French team that he is targeting and not Algeria.

Adli will not make an Aouar

Words which have already caused a lot of ink to flow on the other side of the Mediterranean. El Khedra fans have called for ignoring him from now on and not doing the same as with Houssem Aouar. No longer a question of being a backup option for binational players who opt for the Blues before falling back on their second country by default.

Adli will therefore not have the chance to play a second time under Petkovic’s orders. The two men met briefly in Bordeaux.
