It can mean a lot when the title’s history is rewritten as someone climbs up the charts and takes over records that have been in place for decades. That is the case again, as we might be seeing another all time record come crashing down.

As of Wednesday, Gunther has held the Intercontinental Title for 600 days, extending his record for longest reign in the title’s history. This puts him less than three weeks away from the most combined days as champion all time. Should Gunther hold the title until February 20, he surpass Pedro Morales’ record of 619 days, which was established over the course of two reigns.
