Popular Nigerian Senator Shehu Sani has lambasted the National Commission Commission (NCC) and telecommunication companies in Nigeria over their apparent inefficiency in swiftly blocking phone numbers used by bandits and criminals.
The senator, known for his outspokenness on national issues, took to social media to express his concerns regarding the prioritization of blocking SIM cards over those utilized by criminal elements.
In his tweet, Senator Shehu Sani pointed out a puzzling situation where telecom operators and the NCC quickly block SIM cards of regular citizens.
However, they falter when it comes to promptly blocking the numbers used by bandits for ransom collection and criminal activities.
“The NCC and the Telecom operators know how to quickly block SIM cards; the ones they are yet to know how to quickly block are those ones used by Bandits to collect ransom,” Senator Shehu Sani wrote.
