The Young and the Restless actress Melissa Ordway is clarifying reports that she exited the series. Last week, the 41-year-old star, who played Abby Newman on the series since 2013, shared that the fan fave soap had taken her off contract. Now, she’s further elaborating for fans upset that she might suddenly disappear from the CBS daytime drama. Keep reading to find out more… “Okay, I’m gonna try to make this under 60 seconds. Thank you for all the love and the support and for everyone that has followed me and my family and our Young and the Restless journey and just that come here every day and send love and support, I love you all and thank you so much,” Melissa said in an Instagram video. She continued, “I honestly was not expecting the reaction that I woke up to this morning with all the news outlets kind of taking the story and running with it. It is true, I am no longer on contract, but I’m still on Young and Restless, I’m still playing Abby, it’s just in a different capacity. So I hope that you continue to watch the wedding and the rest of the week. I hope that Abby and Devon have an amazing love story with Dominic and more babies.” She added, “I hope I am there as much as I possibly can be. I hope that they continue to write for Abby. I hope and pray for all of that. I’m here for it. I love Abby. I love playing her. I want to be there. And bottom line, I love you guys.
