Yung Filly, the British YouTuber, TV star and rapper, has appeared in court in Australia on rape charges.
The 29-year-old host of BBC3 show Hot Property was arrested in Brisbane on Tuesday and extradited to Perth, where he appeared before Perth Magistrates’ Court on Thursday.
Deadline has contacted Filly’s reps at UTA for comment.
Filly, whose real name is Andres Felipe Valencia Barrientos, allegedly sexually assaulted a woman in her 20s in his Perth hotel room after he had performed at a venue in Hillarys, a northern coastal suburb. The incident is alleged to have taken place on September 28.
Western Australia Police said Filly faced four counts of sexual penetration without consent, three counts of assault, and one count of impeding a person’s breathing by applying pressure to the neck.
“This investigation is ongoing and Sex Assault Squad detectives urge anyone with information relating to this matter, or any similar incidents, to call Crime Stoppers,” police added.
Filly has more than 1.8M subscribers on YouTube, where he is a member of the Beta Squad collective. He has 3.2M followers on both TikTok and Instagram.
The social media star has crossed over into television on several occassions. He is perhaps best-known for hosting two seasons of BBC3’s propery dating show Hot Property, which was produced by BBC Studios.
Filly appeared on Channel 4’s The Great Celebrity Bake Off in 2022, while ITV has given him airtime on Soccer Aid and The Jonathan Ross Show.
