Zac Efron is opening up about the stem cell treatment he recently went through to fix a back injury. The 36-year-old actor took to his Instagram account to praise his doctor and discuss the six-month road to recovery he’s been on. The Mayo Clinic says that “stem cells are found in almost all tissues of the body. And they are needed for the maintenance of tissue as well as for repair after injury.” Zac wrote a long caption about the process and how it’s helped him, but it all started with how he ended up in stem cell therapy. “I fully commit to my roles, which I love, but it takes a toll,” the actor explained after hurting his back on set of The Iron Claw. He went on to say that he’d tried physical therapy, but he didn’t notice many results. So, off he went to Eterna Health! Even during Zac’s preparation for The Iron Claw, he knew that it would be challenging on him mentally and physically. “The physicality he brought to the ring every single day was really unique. It changed wrestling,” the star explained to Us Weekly. “I knew that was going to be the hardest [thing] for me to master and get right. So, I put everything I had into it.” While it may have ended in injury, Zac still managed to give one of his best performances in his role as Kevin Von Erich.
