Zachary Wentz returned to the NXT ring for the first time since his WWE release on the July 16th episode of WWE NXT. He teamed up with Wes Lee and Trey Miguel to beat Gallus in a match that came two years after he was released amid allegations from Kimber Lee and the resurfacing of a picture in which he allegedly mimicked Hitler.

Zachary Wentz discussed his return on Busted Open Radio and explained how the “welcome back” chants were validating. (Ht Jeremy Lambert of Fightful for the transcription)

“There is nothing like the ‘Welcome Back’ chants. There is nothing like it,” Zachary Wentz said. “It’s validation, especially being able to be Zachary Wentz, a name that I had on the indies and had to go through the grind. To be able to use that on WWE television is amazing. I was talking to Tommy (Dreamer) last night. The fans knowing our Rascalz wave.

“If you watch our entrance, so many people are doing the wave. Not that I never thought that would happen, but especially after the run and changing to MSK, I just didn’t know if the Rascalz could ever make it to WWE TV as the Rascalz. It’s a blessing. It’s years of building this brand as The Rascalz. Me, Wes, Trey, and Myron (Reed). I couldn’t be happier.”
