Zack Sabre Jr. won the NJPW G1 Climax 34 to earn a shot at the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship. However, he made it clear that he wanted to challenge for the title at the King of Pro-Wrestling event rather than Wrestle Kingdom 19.
New Japan Pro-Wrestling has confirmed that Sabre Jr. will challenge for the gold at the October 14 event. He will face either IWGP World Heavyweight Champion Tetsuya Naito or Great-O-Khan, who will challenge for the title at NJPW Destruction in Kobe.
