Lawal & Obaseki at the event
Zamfara State Governor, Dauda Lawal, on Wednesday, commended the Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki, for his transformative vision and commitment to improving Edo State’s health sector.
Lawal offered this commendation as the guest of honour at the commissioning, matriculation, and 60th anniversary of the Edo College of Health Sciences and Technology, held in Benin City.
In a statement released by Lawal’s spokesperson, Sulaiman Idris, Lawal noted that both governors toured the state-of-the-art facilities at the complex.
Lawal proposed that Zamfara and Edo State establish a student exchange programme that will allow students from Zamfara’s health institutions to attend EdoCOHEST for a semester.
“It is an honour and a privilege to be here at the invitation of my brother and the wonderful people of beautiful Edo State to celebrate this milestone in the life of the Edo College of Health Sciences and Technology, especially for the matriculating students.
“As we gather here, I am reminded of the power of vision and determination under the capable and visionary leadership of His Excellency, my brother Governor Obaseki, who has rekindled hope in Edo State, showing that with a clear vision, excellence is achievable despite all odds in our country.
“Having listened to the details of this project, I commend my brother for this shining example of what can be achieved when resilience, vision, and dedication come together. To the students matriculating today, you are symbols of our hope and pride, representing the boundless potential of Edo State and Nigeria.
“Study hard, excel, and protect the investment made here for you and future generations. Beyond producing health professionals, I pray this institution becomes a bridge to connect people, create jobs, and foster economic growth within and beyond Edo State. It stands as a testament to the resilience and potential of our untapped talent,” Lawal said.
Obaseki expressed gratitude to Lawal for honouring Edo State’s invitation.
Obaseki said, “I am grateful to you, my brother, the Governor of Zamfara State, Dr Dauda Lawal, for joining me at this tri-faceted event, which includes the commissioning, matriculation, and 60th anniversary of EdoCOHEST.”
