Umaga’s son, Zilla Fatu, has been gaining attention on the independent wrestling scene, especially in Booker T’s Reality of Wrestling promotion. As a member of The Bloodline, Zilla became involved in controversy with GCW, leading to speculation about his future with the company. In the meantime, his status with WWE has also been revealed.
Fatu has been making a name for himself on the independent circuit. He has competed in Game Changer Wrestling, where he previously teamed up with Bloodline member Jacob Fatu before Jacob signed with WWE.
Zilla Fatu will no longer be part of GCW events for the foreseeable future. Just before their Aura event in Philadelphia, GCW announced that Fatu would not be wrestling in his scheduled match against Matt Tremont. The promotion also confirmed that they will not be using him going forward. In an official statement, GCW explained that despite their efforts to avoid this situation, they had reached an impasse with Fatu. As a result, Matt Tremont’s new opponent for the event was SLADE.
“Zilla Fatu will not be appearing on tonight’s GCW event in Philadelphia, or any GCW shows for the foreseeable future. We tried our best to avoid this situation, but we have reached an impasse. We wish him the best. Matt Tremont will now face SLADE tonight at #GCWAura in Philly.”
Despite Zilla Fatu not appearing on any Game Changer Wrestling shows for the foreseeable future, it doesn’t mean he’s headed to WWE just yet. According to Fightful Select, Fatu has not signed with WWE. His absence from GCW events came after a disagreement over his pay rate.
While Fatu’s management team initially sought to discuss the situation with GCW, that conversation never took place. However, Fatu and GCW have since been in contact regarding the matter.
Zilla Fatu previously made it clear he was eyeing debuting in WWE and joining The Bloodline, so it remains to be seen whether Fatu will make his way to WWE eventually, as fans would love for that to happen.
What’s your view on Zilla Fatu’s current station with GCW? Do you feel he will eventually go to WWE? Let us know in the comments section below!
