Lucas Bergvall has been one of the most talked-about names in recent weeks, with the Djurgardens midfield prodigy on the radars of top clubs, including FC Barcelona.
The Blaugrana have been working on the signing of the 17-year-old sensation for a while now, with talks having already taken place with his club about a possible move.
But growing interest in him from clubs like Manchester United, Bayern Munich, and Eintracht Frankfurt is all posing a threat to the Catalans’ pursuit of the youngster.
Bergvall wants Barcelona move
However, as per a fresh update from Fabrizio Romano, Bergvall wants to join Barcelona over any other club, which gives the Blaugrana an edge on the others in pursuit of the Swedish talent.
As per the report, Eintracht Frankfurt are pressing hard to sign Bergvall and have assured him of a place in the midfield of their first team.
But, the youngster continues to angle for a move to the Catalan club and wants to join them as a priority, which puts Xavi Hernandez’s side in the lead for his signing.
Barcelona to hold fresh talks with Djurgardens
Romano further adds that Barcelona have a bid ready to submit to Djurgardens for Bergvall and the La Liga champions have a new round of talks scheduled with the Swedish outfit to close the operation.
The idea is for the Catalans to close the deal for Bergvall now and let him continue at Djurgardens on loan until the end of the season before incorporating him into the squad in the summer.
While Eintracht continue to press for his signing, the 17-year-old’s insistence on joining Barcelona should swing the pendulum in the Catalans’ favour.
