Controversial Nigerian preacher Daddy Freeze, real name Ifedayo Olarinde, has reacted to ace actor Patrick Doyle’s remark after Nigerian sensational singer Tems won the best gospel/inspirational award at the 2024 BET awards.
TheNewsGuru.com (TNG) reports that veteran actor Patrick Doyle said Christians who feel slighted that Tems won the award should stop seeking validation from fickle institutions like the entertainment industry mafia.
He wrote: “I feel the pain of mainstream gospel artistes who feel slighted that Tems an evidently secular musician was awarded the BET award for the best gosel song. That said, I believe its about time that committed christians stop seeking validation from fickle institutions like the entertainment industry mafia which by the way is in the grip of satan.”
The actor’s comment comes as the Grammy winner claimed the Dr. Bobby Jones Best Gospel/Inspirational Award for her 2023 hit, “Me & U,” beating out notable artists like Kirk Franklin, CeCe Winans, and Maverick City Music.
Reacting, Daddy Freeze via Instagram, slammed the actor, stating that, rather than belittle the singer’s achievements, he should be grateful that a Nigerian has made us proud.
Freeze later quoted the scripture encouraging Christians to give thanks, regardless of the unfavourable circumstances.
He said, “Instead of invalidating the awards or belittling her achievements, can we please be grateful a Nigerian has done us proud? At least the scriptures are clear when they say that in all things, we should give thanks to GOD. Or isn’t this one of those things? ◄ 1 Thessalonians 5:18 ►
“New International Version, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ.”
