Earlier today, Bayern Munich announced that manager Thomas Tuchel will be leaving the club once the ongoing campaign is over.

The Bavarians have endured a forgettable campaign and seem likely to miss out on the Bundesliga title as they sit eight points behind leaders Bayer Leverkusen.

As such, Tuchel’s position had become untenable, with fans calling for his axing right now. But the board has decided to stick with the 50-year-old until the end of the season at which point they will part ways.

Tuchel now a very real option for Barcelona

It is no secret that Thomas Tuchel is on the shortlist of managers at Barcelona as they search for a replacement for Xavi at the end of the season.

Now, Toni Juanmarti is reporting that the Bayern Munich manager has become a very real option for the La Liga champions.

Tuchel has the experience of managing some of the top clubs in Europe, having been the head coach at Borussia Dortmund, PSG, Chelsea, and now Bayern Munich.

Furthermore, he will be free in the summer which is bound to appeal to the Blaugrana.

The update from Juanmarti also claims that the 50-year-old, who won the UEFA Champions League with Chelsea, has long been attracted to the possibility of managing in Spain.

However, Tuchel also happens to be on the wishlist of other managers, which would likely make things difficult for Barcelona.

For now, the ex-Chelsea boss is a very real option for the reigning La Liga champions, although other names like Roberto De Zerbi and Hansi Flick remain very much in the frame.
