Leeds United defender Pascal Struijk promised to send a signed shirt to a fan who dislocated his shoulder celebrating the Dutchman’s winner against Sunderland on Monday.

Struijk was the substitute hero at Elland Road as he scored two late goals to cancel out Wilson Isidor’s first-half opener.

The centre-back has been somewhat of a poacher this season, scoring five goals from 28 appearances in the league.

Both goals against the Black Cats were headers from set pieces to earn a crucial three points for Daniel Farke’s team.

His first goal came in the 78th minute before a dramatic winner in the fifth minute of injury time.

It was a seismic result for Leeds, who returned to the top of the Championship table and strengthened their grip on automatic promotion against a direct rival.

The Yorkshire stadium erupted as fans went berserk, one of them being Alfie who unfortunately dislocated his shoulder as a result.

The Leeds fan went to social media platform X to post his arm in a sling with the caption: “Dislocated my shoulder celebrating that winner, hope Struijk is expecting an invoice.”

The 25-year-old footballer saw the tweet and replied: “Hope you’re well mate. How can we sort this out?”

Cheekily in response, Alfie asked for a signed shirt, but his wishes were granted as Struijk agreed.

Alfie recently updated his followers confirming that his shoulder is back in place.

Leeds fans are loving football right now as their team currently sits first in the Championship, in prime position to earn an automatic promotion to the Premier League.

The following interaction between Struijk and the Leeds fan went viral on social media

They were relegated from the top-flight in 2023 after finishing 19th.

Farke has Leeds two points ahead of Sheffield United and seven points clear of Burnley in third place.

The Whites are undefeated in the league this calendar year - a stretch that continues all the way back to November when they lost 1-0 to Blackburn Rovers.

“There is no replacement for wins,” said Farke after Monday’s match. “Each of the wins helps to build confidence and to build momentum.

“We have to work further on each of the days on the training ground and also the next game in order to keep it going. This is what we are trying to do.”

Leeds still dream of becoming a mainstay Premier League side like they were in the 90s, finishing as high as fourth once and fifth three times.
