Giulian Biancone smashes Emiliano Martinez. The Olympiakos right-back, who beat Aston Villa, the Argentinian goalkeeper’s club, in the Conference League semi-final last year, looked back on the elimination of the English club and its extravagant goalkeeper. “What I didn’t like about Emiliano Martinez’s behavior was the lack of respect. I find him very arrogant. The fact of having played against him and having eliminated him (…) I’m happy because I made my French friends and our supporters happy”the 24-year-old full-back told 90football.

Emiliano Martinez is certainly the most hated footballer in France since the 2022 World Cup final, pitting Les Bleus against Argentina. “Dibu” was imperial that evening to allow his country to win, but his celebrations and his attitude have still not gone down well with some French supporters, notably Biancone. “His reaction when he received the trophy (for best goalkeeper) was, for me, horrible. It’s a lack of respect for the place and the ceremony.”concluded the former Trojan. The story of disenchantment between Emiliano Martinez and France is therefore not over.
