British journalist and media personality Piers Morgan berated Manchester City Kyle Walker for his demeanor in Sunday’s Derby showdown.
The Cityzens hosted Manchester United in the Premier League weekend headliner, with both sides yearning for a positive result on the back of dire runs.
Pep Guardiola’s men were in the lead for the bulk of the contest thanks to Josko Gvardiol’s opener in the first half, but somehow managed to spurn it in the final minutes.
Amad Diallo emerged as the ultimate hero for the Red Devils, winning the spot-kick that resulted in the 88th-minute equalizer before snatching the winner himself two minutes later, as the visitors pulled off what was described as a “Fergie Time” comeback, in reference to the astonishing late dramatics that were synonymous to Sir Alex Ferguson’s reign at the club.
Nevertheless, it wouldn’t be a real Derby without some back-and-forth skirmishes. This time, Rasmus Hojlund and Kyle Walker took center stage. The English veteran committed a nasty challenge on the young Dane which prompted an angry reaction from the latter.
The two then went head-to-head, and Walker then decided to theatrically fall to the ground, claiming he had been headbutted. However, all replays confirmed the defender was play-acting, much to the disgust of Roy Kean.

“Walker must be embarrassed. He must be embarrassed to go down like that,” said the Red Devils legend during his appearance on Sky Sports.
“An experienced player, listen there is no contact. Look at this, I don’t know the guy and I’m embarrassed for him. It’s embarrassing.”
Keane’s comments earned the seal of approval from Piers Morgan who was also irritated by Walker’s behavior.
“Well said, Mr Keane. Absolutely pathetic from Walker.” said the journalist (via The Sun).
Man United’s next contest will be a Carabao quarter-final clash against Tottenham Hotspur, so Morgan will likely be supporting the Red Devils’ cause on this particular occasion due to his renowned Arsenal affiliation.
