The ACB’s actions have shaken the RTA department, known for bureaucratic obstacles and corruption allegations. Further revelations are expected as the investigation progresses, exposing more malpractices within the RTA. The Telangana Auto and Motor Welfare Union called for strict action against corrupt officers fleecing applicants at RTA offices.
The ACB discovered that RTA officials were collecting unauthorized cash from truck drivers passing through check-posts. Private individuals were recruited unofficially to collect money, paid by RTA staff and officials. Legal action will be taken against these private individuals working at check-posts to collect money.
