Adam Copeland is enjoying the shift in philosophy he’s seen on AEW programming in recent months.

All Elite Wrestling‘s Adam Copeland recently sat down with Dean Moses of amNY. During the interview, Copeland praised the recent storyline between Swerve Strickland and Hangman Page, stating that dream matches aren’t sustainable but stories are.

“It feels like we’re getting more storyline emphasis because dream matches can only happen so often, and how sustainable is it? Story is always sustainable,” Adam Copeland said. “Good story can last and last and last, and then you can always revisit it. And I look at the Hangman/Swerve story and I’ve just loved watching the slow progression.”

Copeland has also praised AEW’s character-based stories recently in an interview with Sports Illustrated.

“I enjoy that we’re getting more character-based stories,” Adam Copeland said. “I look at the evolution of Hangman, his story with Swerve, and how he slowly but surely went from being right to letting this thing turn him into this bitter, angry character. But like any good villain, there’s an excellent reason for it. That is really compelling. So I’ve been loving watching that.”
