Adele was falling sick and will pause her Las Vegas residency. The singer put out a statement on social media detailing that the March dates of her performances will be postponed.
“Sadly, I have to take a beat and pause my Vegas residency,” reads the statement. “I was sick at the end of the last leg and all the way through my break. I hadn’t quite gotten the chance to get back to full health before shows resumed and now I’m sick again, and unfortunately it’s all taken a toll on my voice.”
The statement continued, “And so on Doctors orders I have no choice but to rest thoroughly. The remaining 5 weekends of this leg are being postponed to a later date.”
Details of when ticketholders for Adele’s residency can see her live are still being worked on.
With all of the March dates of the Weekends with Adele show postponed, the next show for the singer remains Friday, May 17. Her residency was set to conclude on Saturday, June 15 this year.
It was on October 2023 when Adele announced the extension of her residency at the Colosseum in Caesar’s Palace.
“Being on stage over the last year so up close and personal with an audience again after all these years has been a truly extraordinary restorative experience that I’ll never forget,” she said in a statement at the time. “All the hilarious, soulful, wild and heartbreaking interactions we’ve had are banked in my mind for life. … Mostly though – it’s just made me realize how much I really enjoy being on stage, that I’m bloody good at it and that it is 100% where I belong!”
Adele’s Las Vegas residency had been set to start in January 2022, but days before the shows began, she revealed she had to postpone due to production delays amid a Covid-19 outbreak.
