With Real Madrid reportedly close to sealing a deal to sign Kylian Mbappé, they will soon be able to turn their attention to their next big summer target: Alphonso Davies.
The Canadian defender was chosen to strengthen the left-back position in Carlo Ancelotti’s side, and he certainly fits with the club’s recent transfer policy.
Real Madrid are hoping to secure Davies’ services at a reduced price. His contract with Bayern Munich expiring in 2025, he would only have one year left if he did not renew it. If this comes to fruition, the German champions should be ready to sell.
The Davies saga after the Mbappé saga
For this, Real Madrid must hope that Davies does not sign a new lease, and as Diario AS reports, that is still the case. He does not want to extend his contract, although Bayern continue to push for a deal with more favorable terms for the player.
The Davies saga will be followed in the months to come. If he does not sign a contract with Bayern before the end of the season, he is expected to join Real Madrid this summer.
