Elye Wahi to OM, it’s done. RC Lens reached an agreement this Monday with the Marseille club, which does not intend to stop there to strengthen its offensive sector.

OM are going on the offensive! After having already registered eight summer recruits, embodied by Lilian Brassier, Ismaël Koné, Mason Greenwood, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Derek Cornelius, Valentin Carboni, Jeffrey De Lange and Geronimo Rulli, a ninth reinforcement is on the way in the person of Elye Wahi.

This Monday, an agreement was reached with RC Lens for the transfer of the former Montpellier player, a 21-year-old striker who has already scored 44 goals in his four professional seasons in France, in 128 games played. Most sources agree on a deal of 30 million euros – bonuses of 4 to 5 million included – plus a resale percentage of 15%.

A surprise to end the transfer window?

According to Fabrizio Romano, this announced arrival actually puts an end to the Gunner Eddie Nketiah file, considered too expensive by the Olympian board despite the recent efforts made in the negotiation by Arsenal. On the other hand, the Marseillais are not finished in the consolidation of their offensive sector. To tell the truth, at the moment we still have a deficit of players in the offensive sector. This is obvious, and we are aware of it.said Pablo Longoria this Monday at a press conference. Actually, numerically, with the decisions we’ve made, the technical decisions regarding the different players within the squad, a few more attacking players would benefit us.

In addition to Elye Wahi, who can play in the centre or on the left flank of the attack, OM therefore promises to recruit more. The name of Norwich winger Jonathan Rowe has recently come out – when the Youssoufa Moukoko track is at a standstill given Dortmund’s demands – but according to La Provence, a striker whose name has not yet been leaked to the press is in intensive discussions with Pablo Longoria and Medhi Benatia. Some on the Web are talking about a Wissam Ben Yedder who has been free of any commitment since the end of his contract at Monaco.
