Manchester United forward Alejandro Garnacho missed training this week due to a hamstring injury, but that did not rule him out of Sunday’s FA Cup clash against Liverpool at Old Trafford.
Even though an injury ruled him out of training midweek, Garnacho played the full 120 minutes as United secured a place in the FA Cup semi-finals with a 4-3 extra-time victory over Jurgen Klopp’s side.
The teenager was troublesome throughout the game, constantly pecking away at Liverpool’s defence like a woodpecker. To top it off, Garnacho played a pivotal role in the winner as he laid the ball into the path of Amad to fire home in stoppage time.
As you could imagine, Old Trafford was sent into ecstasy. There were limps everywhere to be seen in the Stretford End after Amad’s shot hit the back of the net.
Garnacho’s performance was even more impressive after it emerged that the young forward was suffering with a hamstring injury in the week prior to the game. Taking to social media after the match, Garnachos’ brother wrote about his pride in his sibling.
He wrote via X: “Garnacho has trained two days this week due to a hamstring injury. Still, he is there running 120 minutes and giving the winning assist. I’m proud of you BIG BRO.”

The fast Garnacho played the match and put such a shift in — with endless running – but it doesn’t sound like it was a serious injury in the first place.
Garnacho has played a lot of football this season.
