Alia Bhatt is set to achieve a new milestone with the launch of her first children’s picture book this week. The book, titled Ed Finds A Home, is the inaugural entry in a series by her kids’ wear brand, Ed-a-Mamma. This series aims to inspire a love for nature in children and marks Ed-a-Mamma’s first foray into publishing, in collaboration with Puffin, an imprint of Penguin Random House India.
Alia Bhatt to release Ed-a-Mamma’s first ever children’s book
On Wednesday, Alia shared the news on Instagram by posting a Reel where she is seen resting her face on a sofa, smiling, with animated characters of a girl and a dog appearing around her. The text, “A new Ed-venture awaits,” follows. Her caption reads, “Friends, we have something in store for you (smile emoji) #StayTuned Until then, book your tickets for StoryVerse happening on the 15th and 16th of June.”
Ed Finds A Home will be launched at the children’s literature festival, StoryVerse, held at Jio World Drive in Mumbai on Sunday, June 16.
Alia became an entrepreneur in 2020 with the launch of Ed-a-Mamma, which offers children’s wear, teens’ wear, and maternity wear. Last year, Reliance Brands, a subsidiary of Mukesh Ambani’s Reliance Retail, acquired Ed-a-Mamma for a reported ₹300-350 crore, according to The Economic Times. Alia also owns a production house, Eternal Sunshine Productions, which produced her streaming debut, Darlings, a dark comedy directed by Jasmeet K Reen and released on Netflix India in 2022. She is also co-producing Vasan Bala’s upcoming escape drama Jigra with Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions.
Apart from Jigra, Alia will appear in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Love & War and an untitled film in the YRF Spy Universe. In her personal life, Alia married fellow actor Ranbir Kapoor in 2022, and they welcomed their daughter, Raha Kapoor, later that year. They revealed Raha’s face for the first time on Christmas last year.
