Julian Alvarez has left Premier League champions Manchester City to join La Liga club Atletico Madrid.

Atletico Madrid have announced the arrival of Alvarez from City for a reported €95 million. Diego Simeone’s side announced the move with a social media post referencing Alvarez’s nickname “Little Spider” and his penchant for celebrating goals by imitating Spider Man’s moves. Sorry, the designers are on vacation” , the club said on X, accompanied by the following image.

The club also released the following statement: “ Atlético de Madrid and Manchester City have reached an agreement for the transfer of Julián Alvarez, who has signed a contract with the club until 2030. The 24-year-old Argentinian, a full international for his country, is a versatile, fast, skilful forward with a great ability to connect with his teammates. He is also capable of playing as a playmaker.

Alvarez made 103 appearances in all competitions for Manchester City, scoring 36 goals and winning six major trophies.
