Donny van de Beek has been omitted from Eintracht Frankfurt’s Europa Conference League squad list ahead of their knockout round play-offs this month.
The Bundesliga outfit take on Union Saint-Gilloise in their quest for silverware and as per Bild, Manchester United’s loanee has not been chosen by Dino Toppmoller to feature in the two-legged tie.
Van de Beek joined Frankfurt at the beginning of the January window after yet another lacklustre half-season at Old Trafford, in which he featured just two times in all competitions and for a mere 21 minutes on the pitch in total.
How the midfielder has fared on loan
Since making the switch to Germany, the 26-year-old started three consecutive Bundesliga matches and was withdrawn in the 63rd, 64th and 45th minute respectively. In Frankfurt’s last outing versus Koln, Van de Beek was an unused substitute – a feeling he’s unfortunately grown very accustomed to since he left Ajax in 2020.
While there’s still plenty of time for him to make an impact before the end of the season, right now, you wouldn’t expect a deal to be made permanent in the summer.
