We’re getting the first look at Dope Thief (fka Sinking Spring), Apple TV+‘s new eight-episode crime drama created and executive produced by The Batman and Top Gun: Maverick scribe Peter Craig, starring Brian Tyree Henry, who also executive produces. The streamer has unveiled some first-look photos which you can see above and below.

Based on Dennis Tafoya’s book of the same name, Dope Thief will premiere with the first two episodes on Friday, March 14, 2025 followed by new episodes every Friday through April 25.

The series follows long-time Philly friends and delinquents who pose as DEA agents to rob an unknown house in the countryside, only to have their small-time grift become a life-and-death enterprise, as they unwittingly reveal and unravel the biggest hidden narcotics corridor on the Eastern seaboard.

In addition to Henry, the ensemble cast includes Wagner Moura, Marin Ireland, Kate Mulgrew, Nesta Cooper, Amir Arison and Ving Rhames.

Sinking Spring hails from Apple Studios and is being produced by Scott Free Productions, which has a first-look deal with Apple TV+. Craig wrote all eight episodes, and will helm one, in his directorial debut. He’ll also exec produce alongside Ridley Scott for Scott Free, as well as Richard Heus, Henry, Jordan Sheehan, Clayton Krueger and Jennifer Wiley-Moxley.
