Gabriel Macht is opening up about reprising his Suits character. The actor will be returning to the role of Harvey Spector in an upcoming three-episode arc on the new spinoff Suits LA. Keep reading to find out more… “‘What, Aaron [Korsh], what do you want?’” he recalled to EW about the series creator calling to ask him to reprise his role. “‘Well … ‘ and then his voice gets really soft, ‘the character of Ted [played by Stephen Amell], he would’ve been in the attorney’s office with Harvey,’ and he starts telling me the story, and I’m like, ‘All right, Aaron, I appreciate you calling me and asking me, but I have to think about this. This is a big thing.’” “I said, ‘The focus is my family right now, and if we can create a space and an opportunity to do this, I would love to help and pass the metaphorical baton over to Stephen and the rest of the cast, because I believe in you guys, I believe in what you guys are doing, this universe idea sounds great,’” he added. “I said, ‘Look, if it makes sense, and I can pull it off, let’s discuss.’ And really, it’s my way of going in there and really supporting this new venture — that’s why I said okay. And he did tell me there’s some really fun bits, and I think we can make it really light and playful, and I think you’ll enjoy it. So that’s why I’m going back: At the end of the day, why are you doing this, Gabriel? I’m doing it for the fans.” According to Variety, Gabriel hasn’t even filmed his scenes yet, so his episodes will come later in the season. He’s also remaining mum on what fans can expect with his return. “I can tell you that there’s some flashbacks. There’s a relationship that Harvey and Ted had in the D.A. ‘s office. And I can tell you that they’re cut from the same [cloth], and they have a deep friendship. They look out for each other,” he said. Suits LA is set to premiere THIS Sunday (February 23) on NBC.
