The Commander 17 Brigade, Nigerian Army, Katsina State, Brigadier General Babatunde Omopariola, on Wednesday inaugurated a newly equipped dental centre with other projects at the Natsinta Cantonment Katsina State.
A statement by the 17 Brigade Acting Assistant Director Army Public Relations, Lieutenant Lawal Abubakar, and made available to PUNCH Online on Thursday, said Omopariola, while speaking during the programme, reaffirmed his dedication to providing resources for the 17 BDC to enhance the medical welfare of troops and their families.
Omopariola further highlighted the importance of the newly constructed sports facilities, emphasising their role in promoting physical fitness and creating a conducive environment for troops and residents to perform their duties effectively.
“He further urged users to maintain the facilities to ensure their longevity, noting that their proper use would encourage the development of additional welfare projects within the cantonment.
“This milestone underscores the Nigerian Army’s commitment to improving the welfare and readiness of its personnel while fostering a sense of community within the cantonment.
“The other projects commissioned by the Commander include; a newly constructed five-a-side football pitch, lawn tennis court, volleyball court, squash court, badminton court and the Dental X-ray equipment.
“Highlights of the event were cutting of the commissioning tapes, tour of the facilities by the Commander and Principal Staff Officers of the 17 Brigade”, the statement read.
