Arsenal: agreement for a recruit worth €38.5 million

Targeted by Arsenal for several weeks, Spanish midfielder Mikel Merino (28 years old) is about to join England. After refusing to extend his contract with Real Sociedad, the 2024 European champion (with La Roja) saw the two clubs come to an agreement.

The Athletic reveals that Gunners and Basques have agreed on the basis of a transfer worth €33.5 million plus €5 million in bonuses. For his part, the player will sign a four-year contract, with an option for an additional year.
