Arsenal are considering a possible move for Inter Milan’s ‘electrifying’ France international forward Marcus Thuram, according to reports.

The Gunners are keen to recruit a world-class striker in the summer transfer window at the end of the season after taking a January gamble.

A number of different forwards have been linked with a switch to the Emirates, with Thuram the latest name added to Arsenal’s wishlist.

The north Londoners are currently ‘evaluating’ a move for the Inter Milan striker, Italian outlet Tuttosport have reported.

Thuram, who has a release clause worth €85m (£71m) in his current contract, has been in fine form this term under boss Simone Inzaghi.

The 27-year-old, capped 29 times by France, has registered 13 goals and seven assists for Inter Milan so far this season across 24 Serie A games.

The Inter Milan website describes Thuram as an ‘electrifying entertainer’ who ‘drives his team on and off the pitch’.

Thuram joined Inter Milan as a free agent in the summer of 2023 after his contract expired at previous club Borussia Mönchengladbach.

The Frenchman helped Inter Milan clinch the Serie A title last season, winning an award for Goal of the Year, while he was also named in the Italian top-flight Team of the Year.

He is the son of former star Lilian Thuram – regarded as one of the greatest defenders of his era – while his brother Khéphren plays for Juventus.

Arsenal are also considering a number of other strikers, including Thuram’s Inter Milan teammate Lautaro Martinez.

The Gunners are not alone in their interest of Thuram and Martinez, though, amid reports that Manchester United and Tottenham are keeping tabs on both players.

Former Everton flop Moise Kean, who now plays for Fiorentina, is thought to be a back-up option for Arsenal if they fail to land Thuram or Martinez.

There was much hype surrounding Kean when Everton signed Kean from Juventus in 2019 but he struggled to make an impact at the English side, managing just four goals in 39 appearances.

He was eventually sold back to Juventus – before being snapped up by Fiorentina in July – where he has firmly got his career back on track.

Kean has shined for Fiorentina this season, conjuring up 15 Serie A goals across 23 matches.

Aside from those three transfer targets, Arsenal are known to be long-term admirers of both Benjamin Sesko and Alexander Isak.

Newcastle United striker Isak is likely to be deemed too expensive, given the Magpies want at least £150m to even enter talks over a possible sale.

Arsenal also launched a surprise bid for Aston Villa striker Ollie Watkins in the January transfer window. While it was swiftly rejected, the Gunners may decide to put in a fresh offer at the end of the current season.
