De Telegraaf reports that Arsenal have redirected their attention to Feyenoord defender Lutsharel Geertruida, who is in high demand.

This summer, Liverpool, Newcastle United, West Ham United, and Tottenham Hotspur have all been linked with a move to signing the 23-year-old.

Just a few days remain until the transfer window opens, and Arsenal are predicted to be among the busiest teams in the market as Mikel Arteta looks to bolster his brilliant team and attract the individuals needed to beat Manchester City in the fight for the title race.

The current contract between the Dutchman and the Eredivisie giants expires in June 2025.

He is eager to discuss his move out of the club, with the club are also willing to discuss a transfer.

This summer, Feyenoord are set to lose their highly sought-after defender, and Arsenal are the latest side to show interest in him.

The Gunners are keen to strengthen a defense that, with only 29 goals conceded, concluded the 2023–24 campaign as the top rearguard in the Premier League.

Given that Benjamin Sesko has been strongly linked to a move to North London, it is evident that Arsenal are attempting to move quickly to get the right players—a strategy that has proven successful over the last two summer transfer windows.

Feyenoord Lutsharel Geertruida is wanted by Arsenal.

In addition to playing right back in his early career, Geertruida has also played central defense and holding midfield for Feyenoord.

The 23-year-old played in 47 games last season, collecting nine goals and five assists.

Of this, 35 outings at right-back accounted for 11 goal contributions.

Dutch defender can be a valuable addition to Arsenal

The Netherlands international was a staple at Feyenoord the previous season and can play in a number of different positions.

With impressive performances for the Netherlands this summer in the Euros, Geertruida is one of the players who might easily become a household name.

The defender can add depth to the Arsenal squad as he can play as a back up to William Saliba and Gabriel as well as fill in for Ben White at the right-back position.

Arteta will have to beat competition from fellow Premier League clubs to complete his signing.
