According to the Italian publication Il Roma, Arsenal have reportedly had discussions over a deal to sign Napoli striker Victor Osimhen this summer.

In the previous season, Arsenal were unable to overcome their rivals in both the Premier League or the Champions League.

They have now made the decision to make newer additions this summer in order to ensure they cross the finish line next season.

In an attempt to strengthen their attack, the Gunners have discussed a summer move with the agents of Napoli forward Victor Osimhen.

As per the report, Paris Saint-Germain are keeping a close eye on the player but have not made a move yet, while Chelsea were previously interested in signing him but have since slipped away.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has reported that the player has a release clause of €130m in his contract at the Italian club.

Napoli would be hoping to get a fee for the striker in that region, which might make it difficult for Arsenal to go through with the move.

Since joining Napoli from Lille in the summer of 2020, the forward has scored an incredible 76 goals in 133 appearances, earning him a reputation as one of the top attackers in the world of football.

The season before last, Napoli overcame a 33-year drought by winning the Italian league with Osimhen scoring a fantastic 31 goals in 39 games.

Victor Osimhen to Arsenal?

The Napoli player puts in a lot of effort even when he is not in possession. He is swift, powerful, and skilled in the air. He also has the poacher’s instinct inside the box.

Arsenal are now obliged to search elsewhere for their next striker after Benjamin Sesko inked a new contract with RB Leipzig.

Arsenal will be busy in the transfer window

The Gunners are looking to add a striker this summer and have looked at Osimhen, Joshua Zirkzee, Viktor Gyokeres, and Alexander Isak.

There are few better players than Osimhen to choose from if Arsenal want to finally end their search for a striker.

It would undoubtedly be costly to achieve, and the interest from the Middle East may make it more so.
