“I am grateful that in this lifetime I was able to be her sister, taking care of each other and being companions. I will forever be thankful for her and miss her!” her sister said, via CBS News.

Barbie first broke into the industry as a teenager in the pop music group S.O.S. with her sister Dee Hsu, also known as “Xiao S,” or “Small S.” The two then moved into hosting gigs on TV.

In Meteor Garden, Barbie played a teen from a middle-class family who attends an elite private school. She later starred in movies like Silk, Connected, Hot Summer Days, Reign of Assassins, Croczilla and Motorway, as well as shows like Corner With Love and Summer’s Desire. She regularly appeared on variety shows as well.

She would marry and later divorce Chinese businessman Wang Xiaofei, followed by a marriage to Korean musician Koo Jun-yup, also known as DJ Koo. They have two children together.

Our thoughts are with Barbie Hsu‘s loved ones at this difficult time. We have sadly lost several stars in 2025 already.
