Barcelona have no shortage of talent in the midfield department, with a mix of homegrown players and foreigners plying their trade in the center of the park.

However, while the advanced central midfield positions retain an influx of talented individuals, the Blaugranes have struggled to fill Sergio Busquets’ void at the base of midfield.

Indeed, the scarcity of options within the first team has compelled Xavi Hernandez to deploy makeshift solutions in the defensive midfield position, with the latest experiment being Andreas Christensen’s inclusion.

Traditionally, during injury crises or depletions, Xavi has turned to promising talents from the academy.

However, when it comes to the defensive midfield position, Xavi has opted for the opposite, with Marc Casado unable to get a taste of regularity in the senior team, despite the perfect conditions for him to make the leap.

Casado alluring interest

Now, owing to the lack of opportunities, Casado is contemplating hitting the exit door in search of minutes, and reportedly, there is no shortage of suitors.

As per Jijantes, several La Liga clubs, such as Granada and Valencia, are interested in Marc Casado, who is looking for playtime and opportunities.

The player’s contract is set to expire in June, but Barcelona have the option to automatically extend it by another year.

As such, his surroundings are holding out for the Blaugranes to initiate contact and make a move regarding his contractual situation.

Last summer, the 20-year-old ignored several offers from top clubs as he was desperate to succeed with the Catalan giants.

Nonetheless, the minimal opportunities this season have cast doubts over the Barça Atletic captain’s continuity.
