Barcelona have a decision to make in the coming summer, in regard to the future of Ansu Fati.

The Spaniard is coming on the back of a disappointing loan spell at Brighton & Hove Albion. His slow growth, coupled with Barça’s stacked attacking unit has led many to believe that the forward might leave Camp Nou in the coming summer.

Barcelona’s plan with Ansu Fati

A recent report from Mundo Deportivo has offered a comprehensive update on Barcelona’s plan with Ansu Fati this summer.

It appears the club are not too keen on loaning out Fati once again as they are not in a position to assume a part of his salary while seeing him play for another club.

Barcelona, therefore, believe Fati should be an option in the first-team next season rather than go out on another loan deal.

However, the Catalans are open to offloading Fati if they receive an offer close to the club’s €40 million price-tag for the Spaniard.

Fati to assume the number ten jersey

The report notably adds that Ansu Fati is all set to reclaim the number ten shirt, at least during the pre-season campaign.

No one claimed the prestigious number ten jersey from Fati during his loan spell at Brighton. Many believed Lamine Yamal could get the shirt, but it appears Fati will once again don the kit in the coming summer.

Hansi Flick, for his part, wants to keep a close eye on Fati’s development during the pre-season campaign. Accordingly, the German will make a definitive decision on his future.

From the offset, though, Barcelona appear quite keen on handing Fati a second opportunity to revive his career.
