Injuries have been a major hindrance for FC Barcelona this season with key players facing time on the sidelines at regular intervals.
Gavi and Alejandro Balde have been ruled out for the season while players like Robert Lewandowski, Frenkie de Jong, Raphinha, and Pedri have also had stints on the treatment table.
Things are looking up for the Blaugrana for they recently recovered the likes of Inigo Martinez, Raphinha, Sergi Roberto, and Joao Felix.
Awaiting Ferran’s return
Now journalist Achraf Ben Ayad has come forward with an update on the situation of Ferran Torres, who is yet to make a comeback.
Within Barcelona, the goal is for the 23-year-old forward to return in time for the UEFA Champions League Round of 16 second leg against Napoli next month.
Ferran, who has scored 11 goals across all competitions this season, picked up an injury during the 1-0 win against Osasuna in late January.
The Spanish forward had been in good nick at the moment and his untimely thigh injury came as a blow.
Initially, it had been reported that the attacker would push himself to be ready in time for the first leg against Napoli, but it was not to be. As such, he has now missed four games in all competitions.
Now, the aim is for him to be ready to face the Partenopei when Barcelona host them for the reverse fixture at Estadi Olimpic Lluis Companys on March 12.
After a disappointing last campaign, it has been a season of redemption for Ferran, who has netted 11 goals and set up four more in 32 matches across all competitions. Only Robert Lewandowski has scored more than the ‘Shark’.
Ferran’s return next month will be eagerly anticipated for Barcelona have crucial matches coming up against Napoli and Atletico Madrid.
