Ferran Torres has been one of the unsung heroes of the Barcelona attack, which has otherwise been dominated by the trifecta of Robert Lewandowski, Lamine Yamal and Raphinha.
Ferran, in fact, is the club’s third-highest scorer this season with 11 goals scored in all competitions, which is higher than Yamal.
Ferran talks about his current form
In a recent interview, Ferran talked about his season so far, even admitting that he is enjoying his best season at Barcelona.
“I am in my best season with the club,” Ferran proclaimed in an interview with TV3 (h/t SPORT).
“My assessment is very positive. I’ve learned a lot, which is normal at Barcelona. The pressure is tough here. I think I’m living a moment of great confidence.”
Although Ferran is yet to establish himself as a first-team regular for Barcelona, he is a key component in the attack for Hansi Flick, particularly due to his cameos off the bench.
“I’m calm and satisfied, and I’m taking advantage of the opportunities available to me,” he said when asked about his limited opportunities.
“If I don’t set a specific number of goals, every goal I score will be an extra win. Players are competitive by nature and we always strive to improve our numbers compared to previous seasons,” the Spaniard added.

The former Man City starlet also talked about the improvement he has seen in finishing scoring chances in the final third.
“At first, it was sometimes difficult to deal with missed opportunities, but I learned how to overcome that and I started reviewing missed opportunities to improve my finishing,” he said.
Ferran’s performances this season might just be enough to convince Barcelona, with sporting Deco reportedly ready to renew his contract at the club.
Ferran on facing Atletico Madrid and Dortmund
Following the win over SL Benfica, Barcelona have booked a place in the Champions League quarterfinals, where they will take on Borussia Dortmund.
Ferran was a star performer when Barcelona met Dortmund earlier in the season, as he notably netted a brace in the 3-2 win.
“Against Dortmund, it was a great night for me and the team. It was a truly amazing match,” he said when asked about his performance against Dortmund.
Finally, Ferran talked about facing another daunting opponent in Atletico Madrid, who take on the Catalans in their next league match as well as the Copa Del Rey semifinal.
“Atletico Madrid are physically exhausted and we have to make the most of that, but we will try to play the match regardless. We are focusing on the league match and when the cup match comes, we will see what happens,” he concluded.
