Barcelona have already begun their preparation to secure the future of the young generation and reporting in that sense, Mundo Deportivo has affirmed that the team from Catalonia have started negotiations to renew the contracts of Pau Cubarsi, Hector Fort and Marc Guiu.

Cubarsi and Fort, both 17 years old, have impressed many with their talent on the football field despite their young age.

Paying attention to the progress, several clubs are keeping a close eye on them, however, Barcelona are handling the situation calmly, confident in their loyalty to the club.

While the club values their commitment, they also recognize the need for action.

Meanwhile, Barcelona are also in talks with Guiu, whose contract expires in June 2025, to extend his stay, as they see him as a valuable forward.

Negotiations are necessary

It is to be noted that Cubarsi’s contract runs until 2026, and Fort’s until 2025. Their release clauses are relatively low, around €10 million, which were set when they signed their first professional contracts after turning 16 years old.

Once they turn 18, these contracts can be renegotiated and Barcelona are already taking steps in this direction.

Now, there is a growing sense of optimism about the process, although they acknowledge that the players are not in a rush to extend their contracts.

Fort, born in August 2006, joined Barcelona in November 2022, signing a three-year youth contract. Cubarsi, on the other hand, signed his contract in July 2023.

Before considering a renewal with Barcelona, Chelsea expressed interest in signing Cubarsi, hoping to address their defensive issues, however, neither Barcelona nor the player is interested in parting ways.

Meanwhile, Guiu’s deal also stands to expire in 2025 and negotiations with the 18-year-old forward are also underway.

Lastly, Marc Casado’s contract with Barcelona ends this summer, but the club has the option to extend it for another year if they choose to and this decision lies with Deco.
