Barcelona defender Ronald Araujo is nearing the end of his recovery process, according to a report by Roger Torello in Mundo Deportivo

Interestingly, if everything goes as planned, he is expected to make his return to the pitch on November 23rd against Celta Vigo, or possibly three days later in a UEFA Champions League match against Brest.

It must be noted that Araujo, who suffered a torn hamstring in his right thigh during a quarter-final match of the Copa America against Brazil, underwent successful surgery on July 22.

Since then, he has been working on his recovery, gradually moving closer to resuming normal training. Reports indicate that the aim is for him to return to action within a month and a half of his operation.

The coaching staff has a plan

It has been a month since Araujo began his rehabilitation. The defender is now beginning to see progress and feels optimistic about his situation, sensing that he is approaching the final stages of his recovery.

The coaching staff and medical team are cautious and do not want to rush his return to avoid any setbacks. They have devised a plan that aims to have him ready for action following the upcoming league break.

If his recovery continues smoothly and without complications, Araujo could indeed make his comeback against Celta Vigo or against Brest at the Estadi Olímpic de Montjuic.

Araujo’s return would be a significant boost for head coach Hansi Flick, who is currently dealing with a limited defensive roster.

The Uruguayan defender, despite an uncertain future at Barcelona,  is eager to rejoin his teammates, many of whom are young players he has developed strong relationships with over the years.

Both Flick and the club’s leadership have great confidence in Araujo, and his return would undoubtedly strengthen the team as they navigate the challenges ahead.
