Barcelona have had to deal with multiple roadblocks in their attempts to reinforce the squad over the past couple of seasons.
However, the club deserve credit for looking beyond the big-money players and always keeping tabs on domestic talent, having nurtured the likes of Pedri, Gavi and Alejandro Balde in the recent past.
While La Masia has continued to produce several top talents in recent years, Barça have also done well to keep tabs on the Spanish market.

What’s next for Gomez?
Provided Alvaro Gomez does end up in Barcelona in the coming summer, the youngster will certainly have bright prospects ahead of him.
Given his age, though, Gomez will have to start from the lower levels before he can prove himself for the Barça Athletic or even the Under-19 setup.
It must be noted that Alvaro Gomez was close to joining Atletico Madrid last year. But a move did not materialize.
Since then, Barcelona have been tracking his progress and are now close to reaching an agreement. It appears the player himself is keen on making this jump, as he looks to move a step closer to making his breakthrough in professional football.
