During the summer transfer window, FC Barcelona loaned out a plethora of footballers in their bid to lower the wage bill as well as help players develop by getting regular minutes.

Not every player that moved away has had it easy thus far, with Clement Lenglet struggling for minutes at Aston Villa while Ansu Fati has been out injured at Brighton & Hove Albion.

But, there have been others who have been making the most of their stints away from Barça such as Eric Garcia and Julian Alvarez, who are impressing at Girona and Las Palmas, respectively.

Alex Valle also making a solid impression

Another Barcelona loanee who is making an impression away from the club is Alex Valle, who is getting regular minutes at Levante.

As per SPORT, Barcelona are closely following the progress of Valle at the second division side in Spain while the club’s technical co-ordinator, Bojan Krkic, is in regular contact with the player, assessing and providing feedback on his development.

The 19-year-old La Masia graduate has featured in 17 matches across all competitions, missing five games due to an injury.

But since returning from the spell on the sidelines, he has been a permanent fixture for Levante boss Javier Calleja, barring one Copa del Rey clash when he made heavy rotations.

And, Valle has done well enough to catch the attention of his parent club Barcelona.

A first-team spot awaits?

It must be noted that Alex Valle was part of Xavi’s pre-season plans at Barcelona last summer and was only loaned out as Alejandro Balde and Marcos Alonso were ahead of him in the pecking order.

But Alonso is out of contract at the end of the season and is expected to depart as a free agent. Meanwhile, Balde’s performances have not been up to the mark this term, with the Blaugrana eager to rope in competition for him to spark an improvement.

But, Barcelona are not in a position to splash big on a new left-back in the summer. It could open up a spot for Alex Valle in the first-team squad for next season if he continues to impress at Levante.
