Adrien Rabiot has been a player that Barcelona have liked for years. The Catalans were interested in signing the Frenchman when he was at PSG and have continued to follow him at Juventus.
And, now that the midfielder is in the final few months of his contract with the Italian heavyweights, it appears that he has registered on the Blaugrana’s radars once again.
Barcelona considering summer move for Rabiot
Indeed, as per SPORT, Rabiot has once again emerged as a potential transfer target for Barcelona heading into the summer.
Due to the delicate economic situation that the Blaugrana are going through, this summer they will be forced to continue to invest in new signings at zero cost.
The midfielder came close to joining the Blaugrana in the summer of 2019. Now, five years later, his contract with the Italian club is coming to an end. From 30 June he will become a free agent and can sign for the club of his choice with no transfer fee.
Barça are considering offering Rabiot a two-year contract, plus an additional year to secure his services from next season.
Plenty of interest
However, the report states that, Rabiot, who is about to turn 29, is not only on the radars of Barcelona.
Clubs such as Inter Milan, Newcastle, Arsenal, Manchester United and Bayern Munich have also shown interest in signing him as well.
As things stand, the only thing that seems to be clear to the French midfielder is that he will not renew with Juventus and will leave for free, as he did in 2019 with Paris Saint-Germain.
It remains to be seen if the stars align for Rabiot to end up at Barcelona in the summer.
