A summer of change is coming ahead for FC Barcelona, with Hansi Flick set to replace Xavi Hernandez as manager while the squad will also undergo some alterations.
As has been well-established by now, a top pivot midfielder is the priority for the Blaugrana, something that the incoming new manager also agrees with.
Beyond that, Barcelona will also try to sign a new left-winger, finances permitting, and have identified their ideal target.
Barcelona want Nico Williams, prepared to sell Raphinha
Indeed, as per SPORT, Athletic Club winger Nico Williams is seen as the ideal target to strengthen the attack by Barcelona.
The Spanish international is understood to fit the profile that the Blaugrana are looking for, but his €60 million price tag poses a challenge for the Catalan heavyweights.
As such, the report states that Barcelona are contemplating an important sale in the attacking unit to free up space and also fund a move for young Nico.
To that end, Raphinha has been identified as the likeliest candidate to be offloaded by the Catalan outfit.
The 27-year-old Brazilian has enjoyed another solid season with Barcelona, but the fact that he has interest from the Premier League and Saudi Arabia and can fetch a significant fee makes him an appealing candidate to be sold.
Raphinha, for his part, though has no intentions of leaving the Azulgrana in the summer, especially not for Saudi Arabia. But he might be swayed by a good offer, both sporting and economic, from the Premier League.
Barcelona, meanwhile, have Nico as their ideal target but also have identified alternatives in case the Spaniard does not arrive.
The names of Dani Olmo and Xavi Simons have been linked with Luis Diaz of Liverpool is seen as Deco’s dream target, even though he would be financially out of their reach.
