The upcoming summer transfer window promises to be a hectic one for Barcelona.
As the Catalan giants navigate through numerous departures and incoming transfers to strengthen the squad, a pivotal focus will also lie on determining the fate of returning loanees.
The likes of Sergino Dest, Julian Araujo, Clement Lenglet, and Ansu Fati will end their loan spells at their respective clubs this summer.
While Barça are unlikely to ensure the continuity of most of these players, the club is not yet keen on giving up on Fati.
Fati’s loan may be extended
Indeed, SPORT have published a report arguing that Ansu Fati’s loan at Brighton will be extended for another season.
It has been a difficult campaign, riddled with injuries for the La Masia graduate.
Just when Fati was gaining momentum, an untimely calf injury interrupted his progress, which essentially was the story of his career in his last two seasons at Barcelona, too.
Still, Barcelona believe the safest route is to continue investing in Fati’s development, with another loan spell in the Premier League likely to unearth his best version once more.
Reports have previously claimed that Roberto De Zerbi is an ardent supporter of the 21-year-old forward and that he can thrive under his direction once more.
Barcelona could offload Fati for sizeable offer
Although the possibility of renewing Fati’s loan tenure exists, Barcelona could be persuaded to sell him if a strong offer were to come in during the transfer window.
Barça would prefer a summer sale if an offer close to €30 million were to come in, as such an amount would provide great relief to their financial state.
