Barcelona’s recent victory over Valencia brought forward a significant player: the young defender Gerard Martin. His debut has, however, led to some concerns regarding the futures of other young defenders at the club, such as Hector Fort and Alex Valle.

According to a recent report from SPORT, there is a possibility that either Fort or Valle might leave Barcelona to help the club manage their financial situation better.

It is understood that Barcelona’s immediate goal is to secure the registration of Dani Olmo. The club is eager to have him join the team and make his debut as a starter in their upcoming match against Athletic Club.

Although they had hoped to bring Olmo on board for the season’s first matchday, negotiations have yet to be finalized. However, the situation is expected to be resolved soon, especially with the expected departures of Ilkay Gundogan and Vitor Roque, which will simplify matters.

Despite this, Barcelona still needs to address a few more player exits.

One of the biggest challenges Barcelona faces is their tight salary cap. To make room for more signings, the club needs to manage their finances carefully.

One possible solution is to secure the remaining €60 million needed for the Barça Vision project. This is a complex task, especially at the end of August.

Another option is to finalize a delayed contract with Nike, which might become more feasible if the season starts positively.

As Barcelona go these financial hurdles, they are considering other player exits to free up space. This could include parting ways with players like Fort or Valle, who may not fit into the club’s future plans.

At this moment, it is extremely unlikely that the club will sell any key players for a large sum in the final days of the transfer market. As a result, they are hoping that the financial adjustments and player movements will align to support these new signings.
