As has been reported already, Swedish midfield prodigy Lucas Bergvall is already in Barcelona to finalise his move from Djurgardens IF to the La Liga champions.

The 17-year-old prodigy has been on the club’s radar for a while now and has been eager to join the Blaugrana, with negotiations with his club also progressing well.

A deal worth €7 million plus €3 million in add-ons appears to be in place, but the final ‘yes’ from the player and his entourage is yet to arrive.

Deco in final talks

Now, Carlos Monfort of Jijantes FC is reporting that Barcelona director Deco is in negotiations with Bergvall, his agent, and his family to finalise the transfer and close the deal for good.

Bergvall’s entourage paid a visit to the Blaugrana’s training facilities and offices today for a visit and the meeting with Deco, with discussions ongoing to find the final agreement and close the operation for good.

Should the deal be tied up, it must be noted that Bergvall would be going back to Sweden to continue playing with Djurgardens until the end of the season. He would be arriving at Barcelona only in the summer transfer window.

Just 17 years old, Bergvall has generated strong interest from a plethora of top clubs in Europe. Apart from Barcelona, Eintracht Frankfurt were pushing the hardest for his signing, while clubs like Bayern Munich, Juventus, and Manchester City were also linked.

But Bergvall has always had his heart set on Barcelona and with final negotiations now taking place, a deal appears imminent.
