The biggest bombshell of the upcoming transfer market broke today as it was reported by several big outlets that Kylian Mbappe has decided to leave PSG at the end of the season once his contract clocks up with the Parisians.

The French outfit will reportedly save €200 million annually with his departure, and could also get a part of the signing bonus Mbappe will receive from his future club, likely to be Real Madrid.

PSG now plan to now move on from their ‘individual megastar collection’ team-building process and will try to focus on honing young starts in their academy and reform the team through the collective, as reported by Ben Jacobs.

They plan to negotiate with Xavi Simons and Warren Zaire-Emery to extend their contracts, with the implication that the will be the cornerstone of their new project.

PSG also plan to sign a new midfielder and a centre-back in the coming transfer window, and one of the names on their radar is Barcelona’s Gavi.

Gavi is currently contracted with Barcelona up until 2026 and armoured with a €1 billion release clause. The club have no intention to sell him despite their financial woes, and will not even listen to offers for him, Ronald Araujo, Pedri, and Lamine Yamal.

Barcelona have also been trying to register Gavi as part of their senior-team for about a year now. While he has been handed a senior team number, La Liga have refused to acknowledge his registration, with the matter headed to court.

As of now, though, Gavi is treating an ACL tear that he suffered with Spain while on international duty. His season is over, but there is no doubt about his passion for the club, and Barcelona will likely not be concerned with PSG’s interest.
