Barcelona have been extremely busy in this final stretch of the transfer market, with the club working round the clock to seal the exit of some of the unwanted stars in the team.

At the same time, Barça are actively working on the objective to not only register new signing Dani Olmo but also bring in more reinforcements this summer.

While signing another attacker is currently the priority, the club are also open to defensive reinforcements before the market closes.

The right-back position, in particular, has emerged as a weak point for Barcelona. The Catalans were keen on sealing a return of Joao Cancelo, but that looks increasingly unlikely.

Barcelona eye move for Marc Pubill

According to SPORT, Barcelona have identified a brand new target in the market in the form of Marc Pubill.

A right-back by trade, Pubill currently plies his trade for Almeria, a club he joined last summer for a fee of €5 million.

He was, in fact, a key cog in Almeria’s defence last season. Not to mention, he was a part of the Spanish side that won Olympic gold in Paris. But following Almeria’s relegation from the top flight, the right-back is likely to leave the club this summer.

Barcelona are keeping close tabs on his situation. The youngster’s name has been approved by the club’s technical team and scouts.

Pubill has emerged as an interesting target for Barça, particularly because of the price-quality ratio he offers. The defender, indeed, could be available for a fee of less than €20 million.

That said, Barcelona’s priority will be to register Olmo and sign a new attacker before they can think about securing a deal for Pubill.

Not to mention, the Catalans’ pursuit of the Almeria defender will greatly depend on the club’s ability to secure exits before the market ends.
