Barcelona’s interest in Djurgardens midfielder Lucas Bergvall is well documented. However, if a report from Mundo Deportivo is to be believed, the Blaugrana are set to face competition for the youngster as Juventus have emerged as another interested party in his pursuit.

Barcelona have been scouting Bergvall for a while now. As reported before, the team from Catalonia are also contemplating a January move in the face of Gavi’s season-ending injury.

As of today, the report they have received of the 17-year-old is quite positive and the idea within the team is that they can use him across the subsidiary as well as the first team.

Bergvall is in demand

Apart from Barcelona, Eintracht Frankfurt’s keen interest in securing Bergvall’s services has garnered significant attention, and now Juventus are emerging as another serious contender for the talented midfielder.

Reports from Italy have surfaced that the team from Turin has entered the race, positioning themselves as another potential destination for Bergvall.

If he were to join Juventus, he would be following in the footsteps of fellow countrymen like Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Dejan Kulusevski.

Bergvall’s standout performances at Djurgarden have caught the eye as he has showcased his technical prowess to revitalise the game from a deep-lying position, something that Barcelona have been missing since Sergio Busquets.

With a commanding physical presence, he brings both strength and goal-scoring ability to the mix. As of today, Barcelona are working on winning the race, but their financial constraints pose a challenge in the process.

As for the player, he has left his future in the hands of his team and his agents, saying,

“I know there is a lot of speculation, but I am trying to concentrate on the national team and I am happy to be here for the return in January.

Now I am a Djurgarden player. It is a pride that my club is asking for so much money. But  Djurgarden and my agents will take care of this. I don’t know where I will play next season,” he said.
