Earlier today, reports emerged claiming that Bayern Munich left-back Alphonso Davies had turned down advances from Barcelona and Manchester United and had pretty much agreed on a move to Real Madrid.
The Blaugrana are keen on adding the 24-year-old defender to provide a greater level of competition for Alejandro Balde in the left-back position and are hoping to leverage his connection with Hansi Flick to lure him to Catalonia.
But the news of an agreement with Real Madrid came as a blow for Barça in their pursuit of Davies.
Agent denies agreement with Real Madrid
However, Barcelona have now been given a glimmer of hope as Alphonso Davies’ agent, Nedal Huoseh, has come out and denied the rumours of the player reaching an agreement with Real Madrid.
“Done deal with Real Madrid? This is not true,” Huoseh told Fabrizio Romano.
“Though the player has many options, we have not agreed terms with any club,” he added.
Furthermore, Huoseh even stated that there is a possibility that Davies will renew his contract with Bayern Munich.
“New deal at FC Bayern could also be an option. Any reports suggesting otherwise are incorrect,” he remarked.
As mentioned above Barcelona hope to use Davies’ relationship with Flick to convince him to choose them.
However, the Canadian left-back’s €10 million per season net salary demands could be an issue for the Blaugrana while he is also likely to seek a hefty signing-on bonus.
